Podcast trend atau ilmu?

Lately, I’ve been seriously hooked on podcasts. Not sure how I got caught in this phenomenon. It started with me getting glued to my favourite religious scholar’s podcast — Dr. Maza and Ustaz Rizal’s team… everything was going well with my dose of spiritual knowledge, until I somehow drifted off into Sembang Seram by Safwan Nazri.

Well, it’s typical of me. I’m not super into paranormal stuff, but I can sit for an hour or two staring at the laptop. Before this, I was obsessed with OH’s horror stories, but I think my spirit isn’t as strong as it used to be, so I stopped abruptly.

Anyway, back to Sembang Seram... what started as casual listening turned into a full-blown obsession. I was willing to make time every day just to watch the videos. I even raced the spooky celebrity segments — until one evening, I felt this weird, utterly useless kind of aura taking over, especially bad for someone emotionally fragile like me.

Imagine this: I was so into Dr. Zai’s story that I kept replaying it — pause, play, rewind, repeat — until I felt this very peculiar goosebump crawling over me. Can you imagine that??????????

At first, I brushed it off. But eventually, the feeling kept getting closer. Honestly, I kid you not, that sinister aura was intense. Even though Safwan kept freaking out, I was still laser-focused on the guest’s story. So I stopped. I stopped for quite a while — almost a month — until one day, one of my favourite influencers was invited on Sembang Seram. None other than the CEO Kapal.

Aduihhh... I got pulled right back in. I even ran over to Ashrappp’s channel because I couldn’t get enough of the CEO’s stories. Alhamdulillah, the CEO managed to take away my fear, and I actually learned a lot about the sea and vessels. The most touching part? He used to serve on Bunga Pelangi and other MISC vessels… it really made me miss those days when I used to calculate MISC containers.

For me, if you want to get into this kind of content, you need to be mentally tough. Don’t focus too hard — in one ear, out the other. Most importantly: listen to these kinds of podcasts during the day. Well, you know what I mean...
