Physical Book Vs eBook
O Boy here we go again. Physical books are now being compared to ebooks. Yes, I too purchase few of ebook which is damn cheap and i had a good collection chucked in my folder here in my laptop. But still the greatness of holding, and admiring the fresh printed books with its paper smell is hard to bargain. Recently i've been browsing around the so called gadjet hysterically shouts Shopee buyers to call for. Kindle and Kobo Libra. Its tempting, its luxury filled with books you can easily download
Tetapi dari segi keterujaannya aku masih memilih buku fizikal kerana sejak aku kecik lagi, aku merupakan seorang pembaca tegar yang suka pada kecantikkan, ketebalan sesuatu buku tu (tolak tepi genre apa pun) yang penting perasaan ya mencengkam jiwa sebaik saja tangan mencapai buku yang elok parking kat rak.
Perkara pertama yang aku buat...... admiring the spine of the book, then slowly open the book as if the book could break into pieces if its roughly open...sniffing the entire book is a compulsory (apa ?? ingat Rory Gilmore saja ka ada habit lagu tu, aku dah buat dulu dari dia!) To me the smell of book is so much extravagant then any perfume there is....hihihihi mabuk kan? well itulah keistimewaan buku fizikal....and tak ada beza pun kalau nak dibandingkan dengan set buku teks sekolah yang kalau nasib baik dapat satu set baru, di mana kita adalah orang pertama yang memilikinya!!!! waduhhhhhhhhhh.........
This morning, .while waiting for my sidekick daughter getting her tudung done, I just browsing thru my humongous tbr pile sitting proudly on my shelves judging me....(maybe cursing me for not reading them YET) my eyes finally resting on my greatest, loving scandalous joyous Hardcover Lord Of The Rings....i took the book and give a warm hugg like a long lost besties. My daughter looked at me and shook her heads.....and said, the name BookPsycho fits you nicely kan......
I once told the love of my life, if he dare to burn my book when Im gone, i will come back as a pocong and haunt him!
to sum up the whole point....Kindle or Kobo is a piece of hitech phenomenon, but you can't find it as luxury as I boringly describe earlier as compared to physical book ..Wouldn't you???????????
